The Recent Advancements in Manufacturing Technology & Management (RAMTM–II) conference will take place at the Department of Production Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, on January 16-17, 2025. This conference aims to provide a collaborative platform for experts from precision, meso, micro, and nano engineering industries, academic institutions, and R&D organizations to interact and exchange ideas. The conference seeks to facilitate networking among participating institutions, organizations, and industries to address shared challenges and advance manufacturing technology in these specialized areas. RAMTM–II continues to expand as a forum where manufacturers, researchers, and academics can connect and keep pace with innovations in manufacturing technology.
JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY: A LEGACY OF ACHIEVEMENTS
Jadavpur University, established in 1906 under The National Council of Education, Bengal, is one of the oldest universities in the country. It emerged from the nationalist movement initiated by the intellectuals and thinkers of Bengal. The university has a rich history and has been a significant center of higher education since its inception.
The university comprises several faculties, including Engineering, Arts, and Science, alongside numerous interdisciplinary schools under the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Law, and Management. DEPARTMENT OF PRODUCTION ENGINEERING
The Production Engineering Department at Jadavpur University was founded in 1980 by the renowned researcher and academician, Late Prof. Amitava Bhattacharyya. It is a leading center for manufacturing sciences and management in India, known for its excellent track record in student employment, with many students securing multiple job offers from campus interviews. The department excels in research and development, ranking among the top in mechanical, manufacturing, production, and industrial engineering departments in India according to the Scopus database. It also manages numerous projects funded by agencies like DST, BARC, CSIR etc. These recognitions and supports highlight the department's excellence in teaching, research, and its status as a premier center of learning.
